See who gets named, and what people say about the work.
Starlie reads every review and tells you who your customers named and what they said, which services people talk about, and who is saying they will be back.
$29 a month per location, after fourteen free days. No card to start.
Two out of three bad reviews never get a reply, and the average business takes nearly three days to answer the ones it does. On a salon or barber listing that is a complaint sitting at the top with nothing underneath it, being read by everyone deciding where to go tonight. Starlie has your answer written the day it lands.

One review, read the way Starlie reads it
The kind of review salons and barbers get. Starlie worked out everything underneath it from those sentences and nothing else.
What was named, and how
- PraisedNiastylistNot on your list yet“Nia did my hair for the first time last month and I am obsessed with how it turned out.”
- PraisedBalayageservice“She listened, she was gentle, and the balayage has grown out beautifully.”
- Complained aboutEyebrow Waxservice“The eyebrow wax at the end felt rushed.”
The reply waiting for you
This was good to read, Amara. Good to hear about the Balayage. See you next time. — Rachel
Written from what this customer actually named. You can send it, change it, or leave it.
Starlie learns your stylists and services
Every review names things. Starlie keeps a running count of what was said about each of your stylists and services, with the sentence it came from, and it refuses to turn a handful of opinions into a score.
Your stylists
Starlie will not summarise a stylist until eight customers have named them. A summary about a person gets read as a performance review, so it costs more.
Your services
Starlie will not summarise one until six people have mentioned it. Below that you get the quotes and the count, because a handful of opinions is not a score.
Chair
Who customers named, what they said about the work, and which services keep coming up. Praise that names someone is kept as a shoutout. A complaint is never filed under anybody’s name. It is a screen in Starlie that only salons and barbers get, next to the inbox, and it is built out of the same reviews — nothing on it was typed in by you.
Your team is safe here
Praise that names somebody is kept and shown to you. A complaint that names somebody is counted as a complaint about how a customer was treated, and the name is not stored with it. There is no file on anybody in Starlie.
What Starlie will not sit on until morning
The things that go wrong in salons and barbers and cannot wait. Starlie knows these phrases and what to suggest when one turns up.
A customer says they were burned. That is an injury, and it happened in your chair.
Call them today and ask if they have seen anyone about it. Check which product and which strength was used before you reply anywhere.
A reaction to something that was put on a customer. Patch testing is exactly what this comes down to.
Find out what was used and whether a patch test was done. Reply privately today and say what you are checking. Do not discuss their skin in a public reply.
A customer says they lost hair. Nothing else in this trade damages trust faster and it will be read by everyone.
Call them today, before the review gets any older. Have the colour record ready and offer to see them in person.
An injury or a hygiene complaint. Either can be reported to the licensing board and both need to be true or corrected today.
Talk to whoever was in the chair that day and check the tools and the log. Reply privately, keep it short, and do not argue the detail in public.
Three interruptions a week at most, and nothing before seven in the morning or after ten at night, unless it is the kind of thing you would want to be woken for.
What a reply from your shop must never say
Starlie reads its own reply back before you are allowed to approve it. These are the ones that only matter in your trade.
Never name a member of your team in a public reply about a complaint, even to say they are new.
Never discuss a customer's scalp, hair condition or reaction in public. It is personal and it is evidence.
Do not explain the chemistry in a public reply. It reads as an admission and everyone else will quote it back.
Blaming the condition their hair arrived in is the reply that gets shared. Say it in person if it has to be said.
Not quite your shop?
Starlie reads reviews the same way for every kind of local business. What changes is what it pulls out of the sentences, and what it will wake you for.
- RestaurantWhich dishes people praise, which ones keep letting you down, and which ones nobody has mentioned at all.Wakes you for people getting ill, an allergy going wrong, something in the food and how clean the place is.
- BakeryWhich items people come back for, how custom orders and pickups actually went, and what customers say about freshness and timing.Wakes you for people getting ill, an allergy going wrong, something in the food and a custom order going wrong.
- Salon or barberWho your customers named and what they said, which services people talk about, and who is saying they will be back.Wakes you for a burn, a reaction to a product, hair coming out and an injury or hygiene — and you are on this page.
- Auto dealership or repair shopWhich advisor was named, what work the car came in for, and whether people felt they were dealt with straight.Wakes you for being misled on price, a fault after the work, paperwork or title trouble and a car coming back damaged.
- Retail shopWhich products customers name, what they say about finding things in stock, and who on the floor is being thanked by name.Wakes you for something unsafe being sold, being charged the wrong amount and being treated unfairly.
